Hi, I'm Watashi - Founder of Actualized Audio

My journey with music began at 5 years old when I started taking violin lessons. I quickly graduated to piano, guitar, saxophone and by the age of 11 I discovered the wonderful world of DAWs (Digital Audio Workstations). I started messing around in FL Studio - and it was like a whole new world unlocked inside of me. Suddenly I could literally create any sound imaginable and had a digital version of every instrument ever invented at my fingertips!

I moved around a lot as a kid, and often struggled to make friends. I hated school so instead of doing my homework, I dedicated every second possible to music exploration. Over the years I made dubstep, disco pop, progressive house, trap beats, glitch hop, indie rock, lo-fi and everything in between.

The thing was, for the longest time I felt completely lost. I struggled to finish any of the music I started. I would constantly create new musical identities, only to abandon them because they never truly felt like me.

I moved to Las Vegas when I was 20 to start what seemed like a lucrative duo project with a successful touring DJ - only for a global pandemic to shut down the world shortly after.

I then got accepted to Icon Collective - a world renowned Music Production Academy - and moved to LA. At this point, even though my dreams felt closer than ever before, I was facing some intense mental health struggles. This lead me to dive deep into self actualization practices, and after months of doing this work, I began awakening to the truth of who I really am and what I’m meant to birth into this world.

I suddenly found myself writing music that was deep, sophisticated, emotional, blissful, profound. I soon realized that beyond all my ‘technical’ skills from well over a decade of writing, producing & engineering countless songs, I had a very special gift -

‘Creating spiritual experiences through sound’.

Through trusting my inner guidance and relentlessly pursuing my craft, over the past 2 years I have been blessed with the opportunity to produce songs for over 20 independent artists and transition to doing music full time.
As well as producing for other artists, since the beginning of 2022 I have grown my artist project from less than 1000 streams on Spotify to over 300,000 streams and my songs have been listened to by well over 100,000 people - that number still blows my mind!

As you can tell, its been quite the journey for me to figure this whole music career thing out, and that is why I feel so inspired & called to support other independent artists on their path.
